About Yeah Man
Big Hearts. Big Stories. Big Ears.
Yeah, Man is a Mornington Peninsula community creating space for men of all ages to connect through shared experience — in the search of our own version of better.
It started with a simple question:
What if there was a place for blokes to talk openly, learn a few practical skills, and feel more connected?
Not through sport.
Not through the pub.
Just real conversation, real listening, and genuine human connection.
a lot of men are doing it tough
In Australia, suicide is the leading cause of death for men aged 15–44, and men are three times more likely than women to take their own lives.
Our why
The truth is, a lot of men are doing it tough — quietly.
In Australia, suicide is the leading cause of death for men aged 15–44, and men are three times more likely than women to take their own lives.
At any given time, 1 in 5 Australian men experience anxiety, and 1 in 8 experience depression.
And even though 72% of men say they’re there for their mates, almost half feel they couldn’t talk to their friends if they were struggling.
Connection is the antidote to so much of this — but it’s often the first thing men lose.
Yeah, Man exists to create the space most guys don’t know how to ask for:
a place to listen, share, learn, and leave feeling a little more like yourself.
We’re not here to tell you how to live your life.
We’re here so you can tell your story — and know someone is actually listening.
Meet Ben
Yeah, Man was started by Ben McDonald-Watson — a Mornington Peninsula local, dad of four, and someone who saw a gap in the community.
During the COVID years, Ben noticed how quickly isolation and disconnection crept in for blokes — even the ones who looked like they were doing fine. He kept thinking:
if I’m feeling this, there have to be other guys feeling it too.
How it began
Ben began by hosting a few small gatherings — just men in a room, having real conversations. The feedback was instant: guys were craving something different.
From there, Yeah, Man grew into a rotating series of community sessions built around conversation, storytelling, breathwork, and practical connection skills — shaped with support from Australian organisation Tomorrow Man.
Cheers Big Ears!
